Start Planning Before Your Birthday

Medicare is a major retirement decision. Understanding your timing and choices early can make the process much easier.

Your Initial Enrollment Period

Your Initial Enrollment Period

For most people, the first opportunity to enroll in Medicare is a seven-month Initial Enrollment Period: it generally begins three months before the month you turn 65, includes your birthday month, and ends three months afterward. Special rules can apply, including when you have qualifying employer coverage.

Because individual circumstances differ, call us before making enrollment decisions.
